A workshop on "Cyber Safety" was organized by the CGEE, UGC in collaboration with Hithawathi.lk on 7th January 2025 at the auditorium.

resource persons for the workshop were Ms. Supunna Pathirana and Mr. Dilusha De Silva. The event was presided over by Vice Chairman/UGC Senior Prof. K.L. Wasantha Kumara,
and over 70 staff members of the UGC attended the event.

The session covered several topics, including Mitigating the effects (particularly the negative impact) of cybercrimes faced by Sri Lankans, especially women and children.

The International Conference on Child Protection 2025 (ICCP ’25), a groundbreaking event organized by the Centre for Gender Studies, University of Kelaniya,
in collaboration with the National Child Protection Authority, UNICEF Sri Lanka, and the JURE Project.


Theme: Broadening Perspectives on Protecting Children

The conference will serve as a crucial platform for scholars, undergraduates, postgraduates, practitioners, and policymakers to present and exchange research findings,
insights, and innovative solutions for advancing child protection in Sri Lanka and beyond.
